Easy Mango Pie recipe

This mango pie is sweet, warm, and incredibly simple to make. With juicy ripe mangos and a buttery crust, it’s the perfect dessert for summer gatherings or cozy weekends at home.

Ingredients to make Easy Mango Pie recipe

  • 4 ripe mangos, sliced
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 store-bought pie crust (for the base)
  • 1 store-bought pie crust (for the top lattice)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

1. Make the Filling

  • Peel and slice the mangos, then place them in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
  • Mix gently until the mango slices are evenly coated.

2. Assemble the Pie

  • Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and press it gently into the edges.
  • Pour the mango mixture over the crust.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon evenly over the top of the filling.
  • Slice the second crust into strips and arrange them in a criss-cross (lattice) pattern on top.

3. Add the Egg Wash

  • In a small bowl, beat the egg and mix with the milk.
  • Brush this mixture over the top crust to give it a beautiful golden color when baked.

4. Bake

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Bake the pie for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crisp.

5. Cool and Serve

  • Let the pie cool for at least 15–20 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
