These mango turnovers are a quick and elegant treat that look bakery-level but take just minutes to make. With goalden, flaky pastry and sweet caramelized mango inside, they’re perfect for brunch or dessert.

  • 4 ripe mangos, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons honey (plus more if needed)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Puff pastry dough (store-bought, thawed if frozen)
  • Optional egg wash:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

2. Flavor the Mangos

  1. Drizzle honey directly onto the parchment-lined tray.
  2. Arrange mango slices on top, then drizzle more honey over them.
  3. Sprinkle the mangos with cinnamon, sugar, and cardamom.

3. Wrap in Puff Pastry

  • Roll out the puff pastry dough slightly to smooth it.
  • Cut into squares or rectangles and place a portion of the mango mixture onto each piece.
  • Fold the pastry over to enclose the filling and press the edges to seal.
  • If you have leftover mangos, repeat with more dough.

4. Add an Egg Wash (Optional)

  • For a shiny, golden finish, whisk together one egg with a teaspoon of milk.
  • Brush the tops of each turnover lightly with the egg wash.

5. Bake

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.

6. Serve

  • Let the turnovers cool for a few minutes.
  • Flip them carefully with a spatula to reveal the caramelized mango underneath.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
